Production manager

KGS DIAMOND manufactures diamond tools for the business market, with applications in a wide range of industrial sectors worldwide. From our production site in Elburg, we work daily to develop high-quality, innovative solutions for our customers. Our production facility in Elburg is the beating heart of our organisation. That is why we are looking for a modern, data-driven and people-oriented Production Manager who looks beyond OEE and 5S alone.

Your role

As Production Manager, you will manage the entire production department in Elburg. You will ensure safe, stable and profitable processes and guarantee high delivery reliability and customer satisfaction. You will combine technical knowledge with business acumen and build a smoothly running production organisation.

What will you be doing?

  • Operational
  • Managing team leaders and operators
  • Daily monitoring of planning, progress and performance
  • Decision-making in the event of malfunctions, capacity issues and rush orders
  • Responsible for staff planning, leave management and flexible deployment
  • Tactical
  • Determining capacity, layout and investment priorities together with management
  • Coordinating order sequence with planning and sales
  • Standardising settings, recipes and working methods
  • Coordinating improvement projects with technical services and quality control
  • Strategic
  • Providing input for long-term planning (capacity, technology, personnel)
  • Managing at least one major improvement or investment project per year
  • Building a structure in which processes are stable and future-proof

Required knowledge and experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a similar managerial role
  • Demonstrable experience in managing production teams
  • Experience with digitisation projects within production environments
  • Proven results in output increase, quality improvement and cost reduction
  • Higher professional education (HBO) or university education (WO) in, for example, Mechanical Engineering, (Technical) Business Administration, Industrial Engineering & Management or Supply Chain
  • Experience with ERP and preferably MES systems (such as LYNQ MES or MES@OSYS)
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO or sector-specific standards)
  • Fluent in spoken and written Dutch and English (German/French is an advantage)
